Syed Tarique Alam is Co-Founder and CEO of Dvara E-Registry (DER), an agri-fintech backed by the Dvara Holdings group that helps smallholder farmers and Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) access formal credit across five Indian states. He has more than 20 years of experience in Inclusive Banking, Fintech, Agri MSME, and Rural Finance.

At DER, he leads the lending business and KhetScore, a satellite-based farm credit score that assesses farmers based on what their land produces rather than what they own. KhetScore draws on crop health, soil moisture, cropping patterns, and climate-risk data. It gives lenders a reliable signal for farmers with no credit history and a stronger one when combined with bureau data. More than 1.5 lakh farmers are registered on DER’s Doordrishti platform, and with its partner banks and NBFCs, DER has helped about 45,000 of them access over ₹200 crore in credit. Roughly 40% of these borrowers were new to credit, and 36% were women.
