SUTRA 2025, the third edition of the Sustainable Trade Summit, was held on 8th and 9th October 2025 at Le Méridien, New Delhi under the theme Sourcing with Purpose: India’s Commitment to Inclusive and Sustainable Growth. Hosted by IDH, with Sattva Consulting as Knowledge Partner and NISCOPS and Palladium as Platinum Partners, the Summit served as India’s premier platform for driving dialogue, partnerships, and action toward ethical, sustainable, and inclusive sourcing, bringing together over 600 leaders from government, business, finance, and civil society across 13 sessions, more than 65 speakers, over 20 partners, and 10 exhibitors at the Sustainability Experience Centre.
SUTRA takes its name from the Sanskrit word for thread, reflecting its role in weaving together policymakers, businesses, financiers, farmers, and communities into a shared platform for collective action. Over two days, discussions moved from ambition to implementation across regenerative agriculture and climate resilient landscapes, inclusive procurement models for smallholder farmers, resilient dairy systems built on technology and blended finance, climate ready and circular manufacturing, responsible palm oil production, ESG governance, and financing roadmaps for inclusive supply chains. The Summit also launched the report From Risk to Resilience, making the business case for addressing gender based violence in agricultural value chains, and featured a dedicated session on embedding gender equity into agritech for women in agriculture.
Sessions were opened by Jagjeet Singh Kandal, Country Director of IDH India, and closed with a fireside chat on catalysing inclusive growth from grassroots to global markets, featuring leaders from Samunnati and SEWA Bharat. In his foreword, Daan Wensing, Global CEO and Chair of the Executive Board at IDH, announced that IDH will launch the India Markets Initiative in 2026, a new flagship to position India as a global hub for inclusive, climate resilient, and regenerative sourcing. The Summit’s proceedings and outcomes are expected to inform future partnerships, state level initiatives, and value chain strategies aimed at strengthening climate resilience and equitable growth across Indian agriculture, and the event went on to generate over 140 media mentions across national, sectoral, and regional outlets.
