MANAN 2026

Multistakeholder Forum for Agriculture, Nature and Net Zero Transition

MANAN 2026, the Multistakeholder Forum for Agriculture, Nature, and Net Zero Transition, was a two day conference held in Bhopal focused on building climate resilient farms and landscapes. It was organised by the Regenerative Production Landscape Collaborative (RPLC), which is convened by IDH and works to catalyse systems change in Madhya Pradesh by aligning public and private sector investments behind shared landscape goals such as scaling regenerative agriculture, climate resilient farmer livelihoods, and resilient, inclusive supply chains. The conference was co convened with the Government of Madhya Pradesh, with IDH serving as Knowledge Partner, and fell under the Climate and Nature impact agenda with a focus on the cotton sector in India.
The forum brought together policymakers, companies, financiers, civil society organisations, multilaterals, researchers, and practitioners to examine how climate resilience can be operationalised at scale for smallholder farmers and rural communities, amid rapidly evolving risks such as groundwater depletion, rising heat stress, and land degradation.
Discussions moved from fragmented, siloed responses toward integrated approaches, covering the scaling of regenerative production systems, stronger farmer livelihoods and land productivity, decent work and gender equity across value chains, and the restoration of degraded landscapes through community led action. Conversations also addressed traceability, digitisation, and the responsible use of technology to meet emerging market and regulatory expectations such as EUDR. The forum closed with a shared call to translate collective understanding into coordinated, partnership driven action across policy, markets, and finance.
