Ruchi Jain

Ruchi Jain is the Founder and driving force of Taru Naturals, a purpose-led enterprise revitalizing India’s traditional food systems and enabling climate-resilient, inclusive rural economies. At Taru, Ruchi works directly with small-scale and tribal farmers to strengthen natural farming practices, preserve indigenous seeds and plant food systems, and build fair-trade end-to-end supply chains that connect farm to market while nurturing ecological and social inclusion.

An ardent environmentalist, Ruchi holds an MSc in Environment Change & Management from the University of Oxford and began her career working on a World Bank-linked rural energy project with India’s Ministry of New & Renewable Energy. She has consulted for the European Academies Science Advisory Council and travelled extensively as a grassroots practitioner. She is also a trained natural farming trainer and a yoga and meditation practitioner with the Art of Living, bringing a holistic ethos to her work.

Her recognitions include 15 Women Transforming India (NITI Aayog), GQ’s 50 Most Influential Young Indians, the Condé Nast Homegrown Brand Award, and the Iconic Women Award at the Women’s Economic Forum.
